The escalator construction barrier is a complete wire handrail system that attaches to both sides of the escalator to provide fall protection during installation. Vertical stanchions attach to the upper and lower chords of the escalator. They install safely and easily from the inside of the escalator, can be used in any quantity to suit the job conditions, and can be designed to work with angle or tubular chord members. Once the vertical stanchions are installed, wire rope is passed through the carabiner-style connectors at 21" (53.34cm) and 42" (106.68cm). Using the equipment provided, the wire ropes are tensioned sufficiently to enable the newly created barrier to support the required loads.
