The Wur-Com is an elevator emergency communication system providing two-way audio, text communications, and video monitoring, meeting all ASME 2019 (A17.1-2019) requirements. For optimal signal and video quality, we recommend use with the Wurtec cellular bridge (11-702-LG-VER).

Does the Wur-Com require a phone line?
+The WUR-COM+ is an all-inclusive IP Solution requiring no analog phone. The WUR-COM standard model utilizes both standard analog phone and digital text/video, so it does require a phone line.
Does Wurtec monitor the elevator?
+Wurtec provides 24 hour emergency monitoring, 365 days a year. If you wish to use your own monitoring service, Wurtec provides access to the WUR-COM web portal.
How is the Wur-Com powered?
+WUR-COM can be powered by a PoE Splitter or a 5VDC power supply.
Which network settings should I use when setting up my WUR-COM?
+Network port requirements for bare functionality of the WUR-COM system:
The ports required for communication is port 443 (TCP/UDP, Outbound). Port 9993 (UDP, Outbound) is required for update and remote VPN support.
Communication must be permitted on TCP/UDP 443 for
1) outbound traffic to admin.wurcom.com and elevator.wurcom.com
2) IP range 168.86.128.0/18
3) UDP port range 10000-60000
4) TCP port 8883 is MQTT, which is what we use to register devices
5) NTP (port 123 and possibly 1023) is required to keep devices set to the correct time

What does ASME A17.1-2019 require for elevator emergency communication?
+The 2019 edition goes beyond a phone in the cab. The system must provide two-way voice communication with authorized personnel, a way for passengers who are deaf, hard of hearing or unable to speak to communicate, a visual signal confirming the call was received, and continued operation on standby power. Wur-Com covers all of these with voice, text and video in one device.
How is an elevator emergency communication system different from an intercom?
+A basic intercom connects two points inside a building. An elevator emergency communication system has to reach a monitored location outside the building at any hour, work for passengers who cannot hear or speak, and meet elevator code. Wur-Com is built for that job, not adapted from a door intercom.
What replaces the elevator phone line when POTS service is discontinued?
+Wur-Com+ replaces the analog line entirely. It sends voice, text and video over IP, connecting through your building network or the Wurtec cellular bridge, so a carrier shutting down copper service doesn't take your elevators out of compliance.
