Wurtec’s Pit Ladder Guard Kit is designed to restrict access to the elevator pit while the elevator is in service, helping you meet the latest ASME A17.1-2022 code requirements. Weighing approximately 3 lbs., this lightweight yet durable guard features a one-piece design for easy handling and quick installation. It is compatible with ladder from Wurtec and other suppliers that have 16” stringer spacing and 12” rung spacing, and it accommodates ladder rungs 1” to 1-1/8” in diameter, either round or square. The guard integrates seamlessly with existing passive safety chains systems. The included safety switch mounts on the ladder stringer and can be easily wired into your existing safety circuit. For installation flexibility, the switch can be mounted on either side of the guard. A safety key, connected to the guard via a metal lanyard, helps prevent bypass of the switch.
