The Retractable Pit Ladder offers a safe and code-compliant solution for accessing the pit of an elevator hoistway. Equipped with an integrated safety switch, the ladder is prevented from extending when the elevator is in operation—reducing the risk of unauthorized or unsafe entry into the pit. Designed for direct wall-mount installation, the ladder collapses to less than 2" thick when not in use, conserving valuable space. When deployed, it extends just 8" from the wall, providing a stable and secure climbing surface. The ladder can also be customized to fit a wide range of pit depths and configurations. The Retractable Pit Ladder meets the requirements of ASME A17.1-2022/CSA B44:22 Section 2.2.6, ensuring safe and convenient access to the pit.
