Wurtec’s car top guard rail is a safety rail that replaces the safety chain on your top-of-car handrail. The rail has a telescoping function allowing it to adjust from 55-1/4” to 88-1/8” long. A hinged clamp on one end secures to the top-of-car handrail with a thumbscrew and allows the guardrail to be raised or lowered. On this model (#18-402), the other end secures to the handrail with a thumbscrew assembly. We also offer a model (#18-401) that secures to the handrail with a magnet.
