Gauge for quickly and accurate setting the running clearance for the landing sill and header.

How to Use

• 1. Install all hoistway headers in place and adjust to leave maximum running clearance.
• 2. Set each end of the header to 1-3/8” from the car sill using the sill and header gauge.
• 3. Run the car down to the landing sill.
• 4. Set each end of the landing sill to 1-1/4" from the car sill using the sill and header gauge.
• 5. Follow the same procedure for each level.
• 6. The header at the top of the hoistway will have to be set using a level, plumb bob, or laser since the car sill will not reach that level of the hoistway.
• NOTE: The sill cannot be adjusted unless the header bolts are tight, and the header cannot be adjusted unless the sill bolts are tight.
