The Wurtec time-out jumper is designed to "time out" after a user-defined period of time to ensure the elevator doesn't run with circuits mistakenly jumped out. This prevents the dangers that can result if a standard jumper is left behind, such as the elevator running with the doors open, with a stop switch in the off position, or at a high speed when it should be slowing down.
