The rope descent safety tool is to be used in conjunction with Wurtec's rope brake (part no. 60-200). It is a complementary tool which will allow the user to control the descent speed of the spool of elevator cable without having the brake pads on the rope brake. It uses 4" x 4" blocks of hard red oak for a high lifespan. The blocks may be turned and reattached once wear gets to an unacceptable level.
